International Forum on Spice Route (IFSR) 2019

IR in Europe class of 2019 goes to International Forum on Spice Route (IFSR). The annual forum is held at the National Museum and the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs on 19-24 March. The forum is an unique opportunity for the students to learn about the historical relations between the two regions: Southeast Asia and Europe. It fosters the knowledge about maritime culture owned by Asian nations which today is revisited as a common heritage. The global spice trade was a vital activity in the past that connected three major continents: Asia, Africa and Europe. It influenced the world's political economy at the time and successfully built a culture of global exchange and commerce in the traditional people of East Asia, South Asia, Middle East, and Europe. It also contributed to the development of modern civilization in those areas at the time.
